Querida família,

This week we baptized a an 18-year-old girl named Edilma. She is living with member family that was sealed in the temple, but the mom was inactive because she fought with the bishop. The family was passing lots of problems and the mom and dad almost seperated, but we started teaching Edilma with the family there and the mom has come to church three Sudays in a row and everyone is a lot happier. Now that they are doing missionary work and having to show a good example everything is getting better. It is cool to see how God works, he used this family of members to help Edilma find the gospel and used the Edilma to help this family be more united and remember their own testimonies. And Elder Wright and I had the chance to be God´s instruments to get it all done. There are people everywhere that need to hear the gospel, even in Utah, we just have to open our mouth and talk with them. Maybe they never went to church or talked with the missionaries because everyone thinks someone else already talked to them.

We also started to teach the aunt and uncle of two returned missionaries, the mom and the 2 kids came to church on Sunday but the dad was playing soccer in another city. I met him on Saturday becuase during the week he works out of town. On Saturday when we taught them I asked if they wanted happier and more united family and the responded that they were already happy, so I asked them for how long they wanted to be happy and untited. They responded that they wanted to be together until the end so I aske them if their love one for another will end when one of them dies and they said no. I asked if they wanted to be together forever and they said that they wanted to so I asked if they knew how. This part was cool, the first time that this has happened on my mission, the husband looked at me and said "no, tell me." So we taught about the restoration of the gospel, the truth that our famlies can be toghether forever, and the authority necessary to do it.

On sunday we went there again and read a chapter from the Book of Mormon and said prayed with them to know if our families could be eternal, if the book was true, and if God had called a prophet. Then we read Galatians 5:22 about the fruits of the spirit and asked one at a time if they were feeling these feelings and everyone said that they were. We testified that the Holy Ghost was confirming the truth and I made an attempt to mark their baptisms for the 28th. The husband didn´t accept because he hasn´t visited the church yet, but next Sunday he'll go.

We are also teaching a lady named Celea(sell-yuh). We baptized her husband, Eliézio, a month ago, but since I have been here she had never gone to church with us because she goes to a different one. The have been taught by the missionaries for 8 months already and Celea always makes dinner for us and gives us ice cream, but it is hard to teach her because she is always in the kitchen. Friday night we made her come to the lesson and we talked about the temple and eternal families. I asked her if she believed what the missionaries had taught and she said yes, but that she hadn't felt God touch her heart so that she would leave her church and come to ours. I told her that she wouldn't feel this desire until she started to come to chruch with us, and yesterday she came to church and I got Eliézio to go up in front and share his testimony. Now we need to baptize Celea. Please pray that she will feel the desire to be baptize this month, I'm thinking of the 21st. Thanks!

Elder Jay
